I recently had the privilege of joining a group of Terri's Angels on a volunteer trip to support the soldiers and people of Israel. Our mission took us to hospitals, communities affected by conflict, and gave us the chance to provide barbecues for active-duty military personnel... What struck me most was the incredible bond that formed among our group. The sense of camaraderie and purpose was palpable, and I know that the connections we made will last a lifetime.
Traveling across Israel with Terri's Angels was truly unforgettable. Seeing our homeland through the eyes of Jews from around the world reminded me just how strong and united we are. I am so grateful to have spent this week with such generous and loving people who came only to support Israel and especially our soldiers. I learned so much from them in just one short week, that felt like a lifetime!
Terri, this incredible journey is still with me. It lives in my mind, my heart, and my soul. The amazing people we met and the remarkable things they're doing — supporting soldiers, displaced civilians, wives of reservists, widowed women... Even in the deepest darkness, there can still be light, pride, and unity. I will be forever grateful to have taken part in this journey.
The trip was phenomenal. The combination of volunteering and related sightseeing couldn't have been more successful. Being thanked by Israelis for our small contribution was so touching when the sacrifices Israelis made, and continue to make, are beyond comprehension. And while we cried at Kfar Aza, Tekuma, and other sites, we also laughed together! עם ישראל חי!
This October 2025, with Terri's Angels and guided again by Nitsan, I would not have imagined how much more this volunteer mission would change my life. We had the opportunity to share BBQs and Shabbat dinner with soldiers, engage wounded soldiers in meaningful conversations, and bear witness to the horror of Kfar Aza, Nova, and the continuing despair of the hostage families. Sharing this experience has created a lifelong bond. Am Yisrael Chai!
In this crazy world of ours, if you feel at a loss about what you can do, I highly recommend you do this: Join Terri's Angels group! Volunteer here and in Israel! It's life changing! For those that don't think it's safe in Israel — I have never felt safer or more at home as a Jew!
Re-entry is tough! Still digesting a trip that far exceeded my expectations... To feel such belonging and sense of purpose is what Terri Ackerman did for me. To be with likeminded people sharing the same emotions was so special. We volunteered, we laughed, we cried, we bore witness, and we reveled in our shared history as Jews. A journey to be remembered forever.
No words can truly sum up my incredible time in Israel with Terri's Angels Authentic Israel Mission. Terri and Yael with our incredible guide Nitsan made our trip meaningful, joyful, educational and gave us tremendous insight to what is truly going on in Israel. I urge anyone who is thinking about going back to Israel — JUST DO IT!
